David Meadows | Senior Managing Director | FTI Technology

David Meadows is a Senior Managing Director and Canada lead in FTI Consulting’s Technology segment. He specializes in electronic discovery, data analytics, cyber response, and computer forensics. David has assisted clients in financial, healthcare, pharmaceutical, government, telecom, high-technology, energy and mining industries with all aspects of technology to analyze data for investigations and litigation. He has over twenty years of experience on investigations, civil litigation, class-action litigation, multi–party litigation, and regulatory matters.

David has led numerous projects throughout the United States and Internationally for companies and their counsel to decrease the cost and risk associated with data analysis and electronic discovery. Utilizing his strong project management and technical background, he has significant experience with complex data analysis, information planning, data preservation, data collection, data processing and data visualization. Additionally, he has a broad technology background covering enterprise networking, software design and development, and system implementations.

Deedra Smith | Managing Director | FTI Technology

Deedra is a Managing Director in FTI Technology’s E-Discovery Consulting & Services and Digital Forensics & Investigations practices. She brings more than 16 years of experience assisting clients with all aspects of technology and its’ use for e-discovery and forensic analytics in compliance, investigations and litigation. Current and past clients span domestic and global corporations legal matters across various industries, including aerospace, retail, security products, automotive and suppliers, energy, healthcare, high tech electronics, insurance, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, oil and gas, media and communications., for which she has provided expertise in advanced data analytics and computer forensics developing new solutions that address challenges in complex legal matters such as class action and civil litigation, as well as high-stakes regulatory inquiries and internal investigations.

Deedra’s work at FTI Technology includes advising clients on strategic planning, process improvement, change management, and risk avoidance. She has successfully managed and executed extensive, complex litigation projects and investigations. She has assisted clients with end-to-end litigation services from early case assessment through case closure. Her experience includes Antitrust Second Requests, Canadian SIRs, MDLs, SEC Investigations, FINRA, FCPA and product liability matters. Additionally, Deedra has managed several projects utilizing complex analytics including predictive coding on multiple software solutions involving government agencies, both national and foreign.

Denes Rothschild | Partner, Competition/Antitrust and Foreign Investment Review Group | Borden Ladner Gervais LLP

Denes Rothschild is a partner in the Toronto office of Borden Ladner Gervais LLP. Denes practises competition, marketing, international trade and foreign investment law. Denes’ practice includes advice on proposed mergers, competition compliance, criminal cartel matters, foreign investment review, advertising and marketing law and international trade matters including tariff classification, dumping and subsidy investigations. He also litigates class action claims against clients relating to alleged violations of the cartel and misleading advertising provisions of the Competition Act.

Making use of his dual Canadian and American law degrees, Denes regularly collaborates with attorneys in other jurisdictions to ensure consistent and outstanding representation for his large multinational clients.
