U.S. Supreme Court correspondent Tony Mauro catches up with Sidley Austin partner Carter Phillips, who’s argued more cases at the U.S. Supreme Court than any lawyer in private practice today. Until recently, Phillips served as chairman of the executive committee. “I am very happy to be back just practicing law,” Phillips says. Even as chair, Phillips still argued in the Supreme Court, and his hope is to return to the high court and the circuits even more.
