A pair of state senators said they’ll propose legislation that would expand small-business fee exemptions to women-, service-disabled veterans-, minority-owned and disadvantaged businesses. Currently the small-business fee exemption is only allocated to veteran-owned and reservist-owned small businesses, according to the senators.

“Microenterprises,” which Sens. Vincent Hughes, D-Philadelphia, and John Blake, D-Lackawanna, define in their memo as a business with five employees or less, would qualify for a 100 percent exemption, according to their memo.
