An amendment to the state’s Workers’ Compensation Law requiring the state Department of Labor and Industry to have a drug formulary deemed appropriate to resolve issues related to drugs prescribed for the treatment of work-related injuries sits on Gov. Tom Wolf’s desk after passing in the General Assembly.

On April 16 the Pennsylvania House of Representatives voted 101-92 on a bill that would require the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry to use a “nationally recognized, evidence-based” prescription drug formulary for solving issues sprung from drugs prescribed in the treatment of a job-related injury, including, but not limited to, the dosage, type and duration or prescriptions.
