A former chief executive officer of the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission who pleaded guilty to felony conflict of interest will not be reimbursed by the commission for the cost of his criminal defense now that the state Supreme Court has rejected his appeal.

Joseph Brimmeier III, who in 2014 was sentenced to 60 months of probation, had requested reimbursement of $300,000 in legal fees he incurred during the investigation, as well as $35,000 plus fees and costs for declaratory relief. His complaint against the commission had included mandamus and promissory estoppel causes of action.
