The New Jersey Supreme Court has refused to hear a case concerning application of the Open Public Records Act to a public employee’s reason for resigning.

In an order dated Monday, the court declined to grant certification in Libertarians for Transparent Government v. The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office. That leaves standing an Appellate Division ruling from January holding that the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office did not violate OPRA when it declined to give a reason for an employee’s resignation.
