Pro Bono Partnership celebrated its “New Jersey Volunteers of the Year” at a breakfast event on April 24, 2018, at the University—N.O.W. Day Nursery in Princeton. The partnership’s volunteers of the year recipients are notable for the number of pro bono projects undertaken, their willingness to accept new projects, their enthusiasm for the partnership’s program, and their commitment to pro bono service, the organization said. “I am thrilled to be honoring our extraordinary volunteers,” said Nancy Eberhardt, executive director of Pro Bono Partnership. “We could not accomplish all that we do without their tireless efforts and dedication. Thanks to our volunteers, we are able to positively impact hundreds of nonprofit organizations and communities throughout the tristate area each year.” The 2017 Pro Bono Partnership honorees are: Carol A. Gershon of Blank Rome, which was presented by Armstead Johnson, executive director of Mercer Street Friends; Laurence S. Rickles of Teva Pharmaceuticals, presented by David Keith, executive director and founder of Educate America Right Now (EARN); and Verizon’s Public Policy, Law and Security Department, which was accepted by Celeste Como, associate general counsel, labor and employment.
