Sumana L. Murthy, an associate in Archer’s business counseling practice group in Haddonfield, has been inducted as a 2018 executive board member of the South Asian Bar Association of New Jersey (SABA-NJ), an official chapter of the North American South Asian Bar Association (NASABA). Murthy was sworn in as co-secretary at the installation dinner on Jan. 30, 2018, at Del Frisco’s Grille in Hoboken. The ceremony included newly appointed New Jersey Attorney General Gurbir Grewal, and newly elected Mayor of Hoboken Ravi Bhalla. Clips from the event were televised on TV Asia. SABA-NJ is a voluntary association of attorneys and professionals in the New Jersey area dedicated to the needs, concerns and interests of the South Asian community in New Jersey. Murthy is involved in various corporate, real estate, and lending transactions, as well as matters advising small and mid-size companies on corporate, contract, and employment issues. She is actively involved with the Women Lawyers in Bergen and is a member of the Hudson-Bergen Inn of Transactional Counsel. She is a past chair of the Wesleyan University Asian Pacific American Alumni Council.

Dugan, counsel to the professional liability, trade secrets and general litigation groups at Chiesa Shahinian & Giantomasi in West Orange, has been reappointed by New Jersey Supreme Court Chief Justice Stuart Rabner as chair of the court’s District V-A Ethics Committee. Dugan has served as a member of the committee since 2012, and was named chair in September 2016 after a 20-month period as vice-chair. As chair, Dugan is charged with presiding over the committee’s monthly meetings, overseeing all ethics investigations and approving motions for discipline on consent. Additionally, he coordinates with the Supreme Court’s Office of Attorney Ethics and Disciplinary Oversight Committee to see that the attorney-monitored disciplinary system’s mission is carried out. He focuses his practice in professional liability matters, including complex legal malpractice defense for prominent firms, representing court-appointed receivers, and handling restrictive covenant, trade secret and general litigation.

Jeremy Zacharias, an associate in the Mount Laurel office of Marshall Dennehey Warner Coleman & Goggin, was selected from a nationwide applicant pool to join LAMP: the Leadership and Mentoring Program of the Professional Liability Underwriting Society (PLUS). The LAMP mission is to provide interaction, career development and advancement opportunities for industry professionals who come from diverse and traditionally underrepresented groups and backgrounds. Participants in the LAMP program attend the PLUS Leadership Assembly and are offered guidance, networking and educational opportunities in all of the PLUS programming, including PLUS University and the annual PLUS conference. Zacharias is a member of Marshall Dennehey’s professional liability department, where he defends attorneys, accountants, corporate directors and officers, and other licensed professionals in a variety of matters. He is a graduate of Drexel University and Rutgers Law School-Camden.
