This year’s winning band “The Meltones” from Greenberg Traurig.
There were no objections when the judges handed down their decision last Thursday night at the Gramercy Theatre where The Meltones from Greenberg Traurig won their fourth straight “Law Rocks” battle of the bands.
Nine bands comprised of attorneys, associates, partners and support staff from fifteen law firms raised $187,000, breaking the previous Law Rocks record.
The Meltones chose to support the Greater New York Chapter of the National Kidney Foundation in honor of shareholder Ken Zuckerbrot, who has been battling kidney disease and underwent a successful kidney transplant just three days before the performance.
The concert featured legal professionals from Cowan, DeBaets, Abrahams & Sheppard; Davis Gilbert; Davis Polk & Wardwell; Day Pitney; Debevoise & Plimpton; Giordano Halleran & Ciesla; Greenberg Traurig; Hogan Lovells; K&L Gates; Locke Lord; Palantir; Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan; Walkers Global; and White & Case.
Since 2009, Law Rocks Global has raised more than $2.5 million for charity.
