Welcome to Law.com’s Midweek Recess, in which we round up some tasty tidbits from the week’s legal news cycle. We’ll be here every Wednesday, so grab a cup of coffee and take a little break. It’s all downhill to the weekend from here.

It’s Just(ice) a Tweet – In a New York Times piece this week, Texas Supreme Court Justice Don Willett was crowned a Twitter star — in the judicial division, that is. Willett, who has authored more than 12,800 tweets since joining Twitter in 2009, calls himself “probably the most avid judicial tweeter in America — which is like being the tallest munchkin in Oz.” Willett says he uses social media presence in part to connect with voters. He’ll be up for re-election for a third six-year term on the Lonestar State’s high court in 2018.
