The family of a Woodbury man who died after he was allegedly left in the hallway of Waterbury Hospital for three hours without proper medical attention for an aortic dissection has sued the hospital.

Attorney Joel Faxon, who represents Lindita Sadiku, said the death of her 49-year-old husband Abip Sadiku “amounts to negligent homicide and those responsible must be brought to justice. This is clearly a multimillion-dollar case.” An aortic dissection, the precursor to a rupturing artery, is a treatable medical condition if it’s addressed, Faxon said. As it turned out, Faxon said, “His aorta ruptured and a massive amount of blood poured around his heart and he went into cardiac arrest and died.”
