A Connecticut copyright fight over the silhouette of a nail polish bottle image stitched onto makeup and accessory bags could get a boost from a recent U.S. Supreme Court decision involving cheerleader uniform designs.

In a federal lawsuit filed Tuesday in U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut, Putu LLC claims it’s copyrighted design of a nail polish bottle silhouette was infringed by Lippmann Enterprises Inc., which used an identical image on its own products.
