Colin Stretch, the general counsel of Facebook since 2013, announced last week that he would be leaving the company at the close of 2018, citing the challenges of working at the Menlo Park, California-based company from his home in Washington, D.C.

Stretch, a former deputy GC at the social media company, has seen Facebook through some major events including its 2012 IPO and recent data sharing scandals that brought the general counsel to testify on Capitol Hill.
