Music streaming service Spotify took last month’s #MuteRKelly campaign literally, publicly removing the artist’s songs from company curated playlists and suggestion algorithms following allegations he sexually assaulted numerous women.

The Stockholm, Sweden-based company reversed that decision and its policy on hate conduct Friday, saying it doesn’t “aim to play judge and jury.” It’s a move many content moderation professionals said made sense, as it could have caused financial and legal issues for the company.
