The risk of a data breach and other cybersecurity threats are ever-present and as the implementation date for the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation draws near, companies will want to make sure their cyber insurance is up to par in preparation.

That will require those companies that have to comply to make sure their policies cover GDPR exposure, and that they evaluate and report their risk levels to insurers in a comprehensive way, according to attorneys who work on cyber and insurance matters.
