The world’s largest retailer Walmart Inc. is searching internally and externally for a new head of global corporate governance following the Jan. 31 retirement of Jeffrey Gearhart, 53.

Gearhart spent his last day at work on Feb. 1, coincidentally the same day that the corporation legally changed its name from Wal-Mart Stores Inc. to Walmart Inc. to better reflect its digital presence. His position is responsible for the company’s global legal, compliance, ethics, security and investigative functions.
