Jonathan Turley entered his torts class at George Washington University Law School Wednesday to a student commanding, “All stand for Justice Turley.”

The law professor was initially confused, thinking perhaps his students were standing to honor the National League championship berth secured the previous night by his favored Chicago Cubs. Instead, the class informed Turley that Libertarian Party presidential candidate Gary Johnson named him as a potential nominee to the U.S. Supreme Court during a C-SPAN interview on Tuesday, along with Chapman University Dale E. Fowler School of Law professor Tom Campbell.

“While I am not ditching my day job just yet, I am honored by Governor Johnson’s consideration,” Turley wrote on his blog. “If nothing else, it got my students to stand up as I entered the class.”
