Prior to joining Thomson Reuters in 2013, he led coverage of the global legal information market for the research and analysis firm Outsell, Inc., tracking industry performance and trends. He is a regular contributor to the Legal Executive Institute blog and speaker at legal industry events. He has a JD from the University of Minnesota Law School and a BA in History from Lawrence University.
|Khalid Al-Kofahi, VP of Research & Development
Khalid is a scientist and a technology executive who is passionate about exploring how AI and machine learning can transform knowledge work, focusing on how professionals find information, how they interact with information-based applications, in the context of a task, and how they ultimately make decisions. As head of Thomson Reuters’ Center for AI and Cognitive Computing, he and his team of scientists, engineers and designers perform applied research and design custom algorithms to deliver AI-powered capabilities and services to Thomson Reuters customers. Khalid’s research interests include search & recommender systems, natural language processing and analytics. Khalid is a regular speaker on all things AI – focusing on the practical considerations of building AI powered solutions.
Khalid has a Ph.D. from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, USA, M.S. from Rochester Institute of Technology, USA, both in Computer Engineering and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Jordan University of Science and Technology, Jordan.
