Finding that a Montgomery County school district satisfied its obligations under the child find provisions of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act by publishing newspaper notices of available early intervention services, a federal judge has ruled that the parents of a learning-disabled child are not entitled to reimbursement of tuition for several years of private schooling.

A Pennsylvania technical placement firm sued three former employees for theft of trade secrets when they went to work for a competitor, taking clients and contacts with them. At trial, the ex-employees refused to produce the client names, claiming confidentiality. The judge entered a default as a sanction -- but didn't stop there. He also awarded their former employer nearly $2.3 million in damages.

Court Grants Jurisdiction in Suit Over Online Gambling Prize

A New York woman who won $1 million in an online gambling promotion but received less than 10 percent of her prize has won the right to sue a Swedish company, Boss Media, in New York federal court. The court found that Boss' association with WebDollar, a New York-based company that was listed on a past annual report as a "division" and that processed online payments for Boss, was sufficient to establish jurisdiction in the state.
