Lawyer Tries to Extend Arce to Defendants in Mass-Tort Litigation
Houston's Steven Smoot, the Arce v. Burrow plaintiffs' lawyer, is back at the Harris County Courthouse with some litigation that could create new perils for mass-tort settlements. Smoot represents six former clients of Houston lawyer Shelton Smith who allege that the defendants who paid them money to settle their silicosis personal-injury suits conspired with Smith to breach his fiduciary duty.
