Litigation Surge - Health Care | Class Actions
Law.com Radar detected a surge of class actions in the health care sector on Monday. Six federal class actions were filed against companies on Radar's sector watchlist, including an antitrust suit in Illinois Northern District Court against several major insurers including Aetna, UnitedHealth and Kaiser. The complaint accuses the insurers of colluding to suppress reimbursement rates for out-of-network services by using algorithmic repricing tools offered by MultiPlan Inc., including Data iSight, Viant, Pro Pricer and MARS. The suit was filed by Burns Charest LLP and Laborde Earles Injury Lawyers.
