New Suit - Product Liability Class Action

Boeing was slapped with a product liability class action on Jan. 11 in Washington Superior Court for King County in connection with Alaska Airlines Flight 1282, which lost its left side door 'plug' en route from Portland, Oregon, to Ontario, California. The suit, brought by Stritmatter Kessler Koehler Moore on behalf of passengers on the Jan. 5, 2024, flight, accuses Boeing of manufacturing a defective 737 Max 9 plane and contends that the airplane manufacturer knowingly and publicly admitted that the 'plug' was not properly secured to the fuselage either during manufacture or otherwise while the aircraft was being built by Boeing and/or its subcontractor, Spirit AeroSystems. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendant. The case is 24-2-00824-1 KNT, Berry Et Al Vs Boeing Co.
