Capitol Records, Warner Music, Sony Music and other major music companies sued Frontier Communications Tuesday in New York Southern District Court. The lawsuit, filed by Oppenheim + Zebrak, accuses Frontier of illegally allowing thousands of its subscribers to download and distribute the plaintiffs' copyrighted works via BitTorrent and other file-sharing platforms. Attorneys have not yet appeared for the defendant. The case is 1:21-cv-05050, UMG Recordings, Inc. et al v. Frontier Communications Corporation.
