Mid-Century Insurance Co., a division of Farmers Insurance, was hit with a policyholder class action on July 20 in Georgia Superior Court for Gwinnett County over the company's marketing of underinsured motorist (UIM) coverage. The suit claims that Mid-Century presents UIM benefits to prospective insureds with coverage limits that are 'worthless and wholly illusory' because Georgia law requires all drivers to maintain the same minimum coverage to drive legally. The suit is 23-A-06225-2, Sausman vs Midcentury Insurance Company.
