New Suit - Privacy Class Action

JPMorgan Chase and Microsoft were hit with a biometric privacy class action Thursday in California Northern District Court in connection with the use of Nuance Communications Inc.'s Gatekeeper technology. The suit, brought by Bursor & Fisher, accuses the financial institution of collecting copies of callers voice prints without their consent in order to 'passively authenticate' the consumer in violation of the California Invasion of Privacy Act. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendants. The case is 4:22-cv-05827, Turner v. JPMorgan Chase & Co. et al.
