The Tennessee Court of Appeals has issued a ruling confirming that certain parties are allowed to intervene in public records requests made by petitioners following the tragic school shooting at The Covenant School in Nashville in March, which left three children and three adults dead.After the tragedy, Metropolitan police recovered materials from the shooter's car and home, including writings related to the shooting and a "manifesto" containing his thoughts and plans. Several interests including reporters, state senators, and other media members sought access to the documents, filing records requests.
