The Senate Judiciary Committee has voted to advance the nomination of Adeel Mangi for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit after a fiery debate over his involvement in a Muslim organization at Rutgers University. The committee also voted to advance a slate of U.S. District Court candidates from California, Connecticut, Florida, New Jersey and elsewhere who were nominated a second time after failing to win confirmation by the end of 2023.
