The U.S. Supreme Court is now being asked to get involved in a dispute that could affect the course of the 2024 campaign. Special Counsel Jack Smith filed a petition in the Supreme Court Monday asking the justices to quickly settle the issue of former President Donald Trump's immunity to prosecution over his efforts to overturn the outcome of the 2020 election.
