Harper General Contractors, Waldrop Heating & Air Conditioning and building equipment manufacturer Johnson Controls were sued on April 23 in South Carolina Circuit Court for Spartanburg County. The court case was brought by Anthony Law Firm on behalf of the Forrester Center for Behavioral Health, which claims the defendants designed, constructed and installed a defective HVAC system in the plaintiff's drug addiction treatment facility. According to the suit, the issues have caused an increase in utility bills and made portions of the building unusable due to extreme temperatures. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendants.
