Attorneys from Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan have stepped in to represent Foresight Diagnostics in a pending trade secrets lawsuit. The action, filed July 1 in California Northern District Court by Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr, accuses Kurtz of breaching a contract with Roche and joining other Stanford colleagues in secretly founding Foresight to develop competing cancer detection technology. The suit further claims that Kurtz and others applied for patents related to cancer detection using confidential Roche information. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Eumi K.
