New Suit - Copyright

Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan filed a lawsuit Friday in New York Southern District Court on behalf of Roc-A-Fella Records Inc., the record label launched in 1996 that owns the copyright to Jay-Z's debut album Reasonable Doubt. The complaint seeks to block defendant Damon Dash, who owns one-third of Roc-A-Fella, from selling the Reasonable Doubt copyright as an NFT, or non-fungible token. Counsel have not yet appeared for Dash. The case is 1:21-cv-05411, Roc-A-Fella Records, Inc. v. Dash.
