The victims of an alleged financial fraud sued BNY Mellon Capital Markets Friday in Florida Middle District Court alleging that the bank did not sufficiently monitor for online scams using its trademark. The court action was brought by Menzer & Hill on behalf of a Florida couple who claim to have been conned out of $500,000 after visiting a spoofed BNY Mellon website. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendant. The case is 6:22-cv-00607, Rando et al.
