Former U.S. Rep. George Santos should be precluded from arguing selective prosecution at his impending federal trial, according to a new filing from prosecutors. Santos has repeatedly characterized the charges against him as a "witch hunt," prosecutors wrote in a 71-page submission to U.S. District Judge Joanna Seybert of the Eastern District of New York. Santos, 36, is facing a 23-count indictment in which he is accused of lying to Congress about his finances, spending campaign contributions on personal items, and other crimes. He's pleaded not guilty.
