New Suit - Employment Discrimination

Columbia University's Teachers College was hit with an employment discrimination lawsuit on April 17 in New York Southern District Court. The court action was filed by Sanford Heisler Sharp on behalf of a Muslim author and professor who contends that she was discriminated against on the bases of religion and age when she was repeatedly denied tenure over less experienced non-Muslim and younger coworkers and her salary was reduced in retaliation for reporting discrimination. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendant. The case is 1:24-cv-02891, Sabic-el-rayess v. Teachers College, Columbia University.
