New Suit - Class Action

General Motors was hit with a consumer class action on April 17 in Michigan Eastern District Court over an alleged transmission defect. The 356-page lawsuit, brought by Cohen Milstein Sellers & Toll, contends that certain GM vehicles are equipped with defectively designed transmissions that causes the vehicles to shudder at high gears. According to the suit, the alleged defects affect 8L90 and 8L45 transmissions manufactured between 2014 and March of 2019 and the suit includes causes of actions that were not part of an earlier class action. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendant. The case is 2:24-cv-11007, Ulrich v. General Motors, LLC.
