Target was hit with a consumer class action on April 5 in Illinois Northern District Court. The suit, filed by Milberg Coleman Bryson Phillips Grossman and Bursor & Fisher, accuses the defendant of failing to warn consumers that its acne treatment products contain the active ingredient benzoyl peroxide, which degrades into benzene, a carcinogenic substance. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendant. The case is 1:24-cv-02763, O'dea v. Target Corporation.
