The federal government sued Ameren, Marathon Petroleum and other defendants on March 12 in Missouri Eastern District Court. The lawsuit seeks recovery of the government's response costs incurred in connection with the Missouri Electric Works Superfund site in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendants. The case is 1:24-cv-00047, United States of America v. Ameren Corporation.
