American Financing Corp. sued a former sales employee and a competitor mortgage lender firm on March 8 in Colorado District Court alleging theft of trade secrets. The lawsuit, filed by Fisher & Phillips, targets Babajide "Jay" Sobo and his company Liberty Financing and accuses the defendants of misappropriating the plaintiff's confidential business information, including customer contact strategies and other data to form the company and solicit employees to leave American Financing and join Liberty. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendants. The case is 1:24-cv-00651, American Financing Corporation v. Sobo.
