Kirton McConkie filed an employment lawsuit on Jan. 24 in Utah District Court targeting the University of Utah on behalf of a plaintiff who was denied a position as a mechanical engineering professor. The suit contends that the defendant systematically denies certain opportunities according to racial and gender-based discrimination against applicants and employees who do not qualify as 'diversity hires.' Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendant. The case is 2:24-cv-00063, Felt v. The University of Utah.
