Brown University and a former student were hit with a sexual assault lawsuit on Sept. 11 in Rhode Island District Court. The court action, brought by Herman Law Group and Grant & Eisenhofer, contends that Brown initially suspended the assailant, but later replaced the suspension with campus removal and remote learning. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendants. The case is 1:23-cv-00376, Doe v. Brown University.
