The University of Minnesota was hit with a data breach class action on Sept. 8 in Minnesota District Court. The complaint, arising from a July 2023 cyberattack, accuses the defendant of failing to safeguard personally identifying information of students, employees and applicants totaling more than 7 million individuals. The suit was brought by Gustafson Gluek PLLC. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendant. The case is 0:23-cv-02751, Seberson v. University of Minnesota.
