Washington Mutual, via the FDIC as receiver, filed a breach-of-contract lawsuit against CTX Mortgage and Pulte Mortgage on Aug. 28 in California Central District Court. The suit, brought by Mark Migdal & Hayden and the Mortgage Recovery Law Group, is part of a wave of cases accusing lenders of brokering defective mortgages for the now-defunct WaMu, which sold the mortgages to Deutsche Bank. The FDIC reached a settlement with Deutsche Bank and now seeks indemnification from lenders who sold mortgages to WaMu. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendants.
