Document Publishing LLC, which publishes the fashion and culture magazine Document Journal, and Editor-in-Chief Nick Vogelson were sued by Publisher Thomas Bailey and London Jam Factory on April 26 in New York Supreme Court for New York County. According to the complaint, the defendants failed to honor an oral agreement to provide a 15-percent equity interest and other compensation in exchange for the plaintiffs' services. The suit was filed by attorney Peter M. Levine, who filed a nearly identical lawsuit in Nov. 2023 on behalf of Creative and Fashion Director Sarah Richardson. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendants. The case is Bailey et al. v. Document Publishing LLC et al.
