The State of North Carolina, North Carolina State University and the North Carolina insurance commissioner sued Jacobs Engineering Group and other defendants for breach of contract on April 23 in North Carolina Superior Court for Wake County. The suit centers on contracts for design, engineering and construction services related to the expansion of an electrical substation on North Carolina State University's Centennial Campus. According to the suit, the defendants negligently performed the work resulting in an electrical fault and damage to equipment. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendants. The case is 24CV013014-910, Commissioner of Insurance of the State of North Carolina v. S&C Electric Company.
