An Am Law 100 firm litigator and his former law firm have filed an eight-figure lawsuit in Miami state court for an alleged breach of contract against one of their former partners and that attorney's new employer. The plaintiff, Ricky Patel, of counsel at Akerman's Miami office since November 2022, is represented by attorneys from Morgan & Morgan. Patel sued the defendants—his ex-partner, Jesmany Jomarron, and Jomarron's current law firm, Morgan Law Group.
