Taft Stettinius & Hollister and attorneys Jeffrey Izzard and Lee Kellert, who worked for Jaffe Raitt Heuer & Weiss before its merger with Taft Stettinius & Hollister last year, were sued for legal malpractice on Nov. 17 in Michigan Circuit Court for Oakland County. The suit, brought by Lennon Law on behalf of former clients Lonnie Pukoff and LJP Properties, accuses Izzard and Kellert of negligently advising the plaintiff to accept a choice-of-law provision stating that a Membership Interest Purchase Agreement would be governed by Delaware law instead of Michigan law. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendants. The case is 2023-203945-NM, Pukoff et al. v. Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP et al.
