Tutor Perini Corp. and Frontier Kemper Constructors were sued Monday in California Central District Court under the whistleblower provision of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. The case, which arises amid construction of the Los Angeles metro rail's Purple Line Extension, was filed by Hengl & Cowan on behalf of a former employee. The plaintiff, Calvin Liu, alleges that he was wrongfully terminated after reporting violations of environmental protection statutes. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendants.
