Lawyers at Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp and Patterson Belknap Webb & Tyler on Wednesday removed a data breach class action against Epiq, a major e-discovery services provider, to California Central District Court. The complaint, filed by The Aftergood Law Firm and Woodrow & Peluso, references media reports of a ransomware attack on Epiq and pursues privacy claims on behalf of California residents whose personal data was compromised. The case is 8:20-cv-01385, Karter v. Epiq Systems Inc.
