Dorsey & Whitney filed a lawsuit Thursday in Texas Northern District Court on behalf of Jostens Inc., which partnered with the Chicago Cubs as designer of the team's official 2016 World Championship rings. The suit arises from Heritage Auctions' 2021 offering of a World Series ring it claimed was made for the series MVP player, Ben Zobrist. Jostens, which alleges that the ring is counterfeit and was stolen from a batch of seven samples, seeks a court order requiring the ring to be returned or turned over to the court. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendants. The case is 3:22-cv-00796, Jostens Inc v. Haarsma et al.
