New York Attorney General Letitia James and the U.S. Department of Labor announced an agreement Wednesday with UnitedHealth Group to resolve allegations that the insurer unlawfully denied health care coverage for mental health and substance abuse disorder treatment. As a result of the agreement, UnitedHealth will pay approximately $14.3 million in restitution. The New York AG's complaint was filed in New York Eastern District Court. UnitedHealth is represented by Crowell & Moring. The case is 1:21-cv-04533, James v. UnitedHealth Group Inc. et al.
